Dried food and medecine

Sheung Wan, a district of HK, is known for its dried seafood and medicine foods. There are hundreds of stores around and even the streets smell the very particular odor of dried food…. It is not the best smell ever in the morning but I am now able to breathe next to their store without feeling sick.

If you are into dried food, you will be able to find high quality ingredient here, I still don’t know how to cook them but it is very popular in Chinese dishes to use them like the dried abalone, mushrooms, ginseng and bird’s nests…

Only the taste and the texture for me have been enough for this day and I won’t be the one buying them for home! I really try to taste different Chinese dishes but there are limits and I am not brave enough for all those things…
