Here is the list of my favorite Asian restaurants in Hong Kong. It is just impossible to list all the restaurants in this city and of course it is based to my own experience.

This list may change and will be updated from time to time.

Dim Sum

Din Tai Fung, Causeway Bay, G/F, 68 Yee Wo Street

Favorite Dish -> Xia Long Bao & Vegetarian Dumplings

One of our favorite place for diner around home, this is the place to try lots of delicious dim sum! Go at the beginning of the week if you want to avoid the crowd as this place is a favorite for locals as well!

Crystal Jade, Wan Chai, 2/F, World Trade Center, 280 Gloucester Road

Favorite Dish -> Onion beef & Vegetarian Dumplings

Looking for a Chinese restaurant but not only dim sum? This place offers very good dish to complete your meal. The dishes are tasty and the view on the Victoria Harbor is not too bad.

Sichuan

Shui Hu Ju, Central Soho, 68 Peel Street

Favorite Dish -> Dim sum & Spicy prawns

A must, a gem! The perfect chinese style small restaurant hidden in a quiet street. The dishes here are just amazing and the intimate atmosphere will make it a great experience.

Chongqing Schezuan Cuisine, Central Soho, G/F, 27-29 Elgin Street

Favorite Dish -> Spicy Chicken & Sichuan Noddles

In need of some real spicy food ? Here is the place to go... a small and cute restaurant in Soho with amazing spicy dishes, be ready to sweat!

Peking Duck

Spring Deer, TST, 1/F, 42 Mody Road

Favorite dish -> Peking Duck & Cantonese fried rice

Eat a peking duck in a real chinese atmosphere, the restaurant is not the nicest one in terms of european standards but it is the real experience! The food here is amazing.

Vietnamese

Nha Trang, Central, 88-90 Wellington Street

Favorite dish -> Cold Vermicelli & Pho

The perfect place for your Vietnamese cuisine fix. If you are not there at 12 sharp or 6.30 in the evening, prepare to queue for at least 20 minutes to be able to seat. A food institution not to be missed!

Nepalese

Nepal Restaurant, Central Soho, G/F, 14 Staunton Street

Favorite Dish -> Dal Jhaneko

Want to try something a bit different ? Nepalese cuisine is worth the try : lots of curries, mild spices and a huge choice of dishes on the menu. This small restaurant is perfect for an escape of HK craziness the time of dinner.

Indian

Tandoor, Central Soho, 1/F, Lyndhurst Tower, 1 Lyndhurst Terrace

Favorite dish -> Garlic Naan & Dal Makhani

Even if indian food is not always the lightest food on Earth, this is definitely well worth a stop! The dishes are all very tasty, the restaurant's location is good and there is some live music at dinner time to entertain customer.

Spice, TST, 2/F, 1 Knutsford Terrace

Favorite dish -> Dal Makhani

On top of serving delicious indian dishes, this place has a nice and relaxed atmosphere. The decoration is colorful and well chosen, if you are looking for a quiet intimist dinner, you should give it a try!

Korean

Korea Restaurant, Tin Hau, 13-17 Lau Li street

Favorite dish -> Korean Vegetarian BBQ

For a fabulous shared dinner, Korean BBq is an experience on its own. When on top of that, you can find a place where the friendly owner knows a bit of French, it becomes the place to eat around home!

Thai

Chilli Thai, Tin Hau, Electric Road

Favorite dish -> Curries

A restaurant not far from home: good location, good food, plenty of choice! This restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you are living in the area. It can be sometime s abit cold inside due to their aircon so bring a sweater.

Thai Simple Kitchen, Causeway Bay, 517 Jaffe Road, President Cinema Roof floor

Favorite dish -> Curries

With an extensive menu, a huge outdoor terrace hidden in the heart of Causeway Bay, this restaurant has verything I am looking for! you might have to queue for a while before getting a seat but nothing crazy!

Koh Thai, Central Mid-levels, 38 Shelley Street

Favorite Dish -> Curries & Special Thai fish

This restaurant along the escalator is a nice place to go for an outside dinner as they have a huge terrace. The Thai food is amazing and specialties on the menu are all delicious

Mango Tree, Causeway Bay, 5/F, Cubuc, 1 Hoi Ping Road

Favorite Dish -> Spring rolls & Curries

Looking for a fancier option, this restaurant is on the high range prices. The location is amazing and the atmosphere here is well worth the price. The food is well presented and delicious!

Japanese

Sen-ryo, branches around hong Kong

Favorite Dish -> Salmon sushi & avocado maki

This Japanese sushi chain is present everywhere in Hong Kong and is well worth a visit. Their sushis are perfectly prepared and the fish used is more than delicious. Plenty of variety to choose from compared to the European sushis, you will never be disapointed.

Indonesian

1968, Central, 5/F, The L Place, 139 Queen's Road

Favorite dish -> Vegetarian fried rice

Located just next to my office, this hidden restaurant is the perfect quiet spot for lunch. They also offer a specific vegetarian menu on some days of the week so no wonder I loved it!
