New irresistible French play - God of Carnage

If you missed the first session run for the charity “Children of the Mekong”, it is still time to book your tickets for today, tomorrow and Saturday (25-26 and 27^th of April).

It is a dark comedy written by Y. Reza and played by the HK Theater Association. No worries for English speaking spectators, English surtitles have been added to the play (or it is a good excuse to work on your foreign language skills perhaps?).

The story: Two kids get involved in an argument at school because Bruno refuses to let Ferdinand join his gang. Ferdinand breaks Bruno’s teeth with a stick and the parents meet to discuss the matter. During this meeting, the true nature of each person will be revealed. Ferdinand’s parents are an “always-on-the phone” lawyer who doesn’t seem to be interested in the discussion and his upper-class wife seems bored by the absence of her husband. While Bruno’s parents; the other couple is a self-made entrepreneur who just threw away the family’s hamster and his wife is writing a book about Darfur and ready to give lessons about education to everyone.

The discussion quickly turns into irrational arguments which made perfect funny moments for the spectators. I really enjoyed it and I do recommend you book your seats with them before the play is gone!
