Mongolian nomads don’t only love their goats, camels and sheep, they cherish their horses. Back in more traditional times, horses gave a tactical advantage of mobility to the Mongolian against the Chinese and other invaders. As of today, there have more than 3 million horses in the country.
In the mountainous region of the 8 lakes, horses can be found everywhere. They are small sized and arduous horses and wilder compared to our European style horses. As horse riding is a huge part of the Mongolian life, you can’t go to Mongolia without experiencing it. And the nice part about horse riding is also the small stops for a picnic, some games and drinks.
If you are a good rider, you will manage the Mongolian horses without any problem, if you are a newbie, you will have to manage it as well! No one felt from their horses during our trip but you will have to be carefule as it does happen regularly... Mongolian horses have their own way and you will have to adapt to them not the other way around ;)
