Guys it is time to celebrate for my 200th article on this blog!
It is been 20 months since I moved to Hong Kong, 15 months since I started a job here & 5 months since we finally moved to a normal apartment… It took a lot of treks and weekends to discover the true face of HK and I am still far from done!
It is the perfect time for a summary of the time I spent here:
4 different living places in 20 months
6 new countries discovered in Asia and much more to visit!
1 passport full of visas and a second one on its way
6 Sunday brunches tested
3 food classes done around Asia
More than 20 treks done in the natural parks around HK
20 dives in paradisiac locations
5 outlying islands visited
5 visitors from overseas (Thanks to Eurel & Charles, Anne So & Jo and JF!)
1 broken bone but still have all my teeth
Plenty of new friends
...
So now your question might be “what’s next?”
I will stay in HK for at least 2 more years; I still have lots of things to discover!
There are plenty of countries in Asia I have not been yet, plenty of things to learn in my professional environment, plenty of cultural clashes to deal with every day…
Also a bridge between HK and Macao is not getting built in one day, isn’t it?
I still have mixed feelings regarding HK, I am not a huge fan of this city even after more than a year here. The cultural clashes are pretty hard between Western and Eastern habits and customs but I have to admit HK does offer an easy life to everyone! Every day could be so different, I learn each day a lot on this culture but also on myself... I have a love & hate relationship with HK and that's also part of the charm of this city!
