Bad news for the travelers all around the world!!!
The Japanese government has ended speculation suggesting its national tourism authority would offer 10,000 free flights to the country from April 2012 and rejected to allocate a budget for this campaign.
This initiative was first designed to boost back tourism in the country after the devastating effects from the tsunami and the outgoing problems related to Fukushima nuclear plant.
The Japanese government has published the following on their website: “We realize that this announcement is going to disappoint thousands of people around the world, but we hope people will understand how insensitive it would appear for the Japanese government to give people free flights to Japan when the cities, towns and villages devastated by the tsunami are still in desperate need of funding for reconstruction”
Even if I am a bit disappointed as I was already planning a trip to Japan like thousands of other tourists, I think they make the right choice by keeping this budget for all the Japanese people who suffered from this natural disaster! Go guys, you deserve it!!!!
