If you are an avid reader like I am, you will probably feel depressed when entering a bookstore in Hong Kong… In my opinion, English books are very expensive here and it soon became a real budget for me to buy new books.
The French option was not really a good solution either. These books being imported from France, their prices are not on the cheap side.
The price ranges from 110 HKD to 300 HKD for some of them… isn’t it crazy?
Taking into account the fact that I can read two to three books a week; that was going to seriously affect my shoes budget so I had to find a quick solution!
After few months in town, I discovered a second hand books market with few shops around my office. The price starts as low as 25 HKD for one book…
The shop is full of books everywhere; there is not enough space for them on the shelves so they start to use the alleys, the floor, the entrance and even the stairs outside the shop… This place for sure does not look like your usual bookstore… Going there at lunch time and coming back with bags full of books is pure pleasure.
Only real bookworms can understand those exciting feelings!!!
I can spend more than an hour wandering around this tiny little shop on Hollywood road named “Flow”. It becomes my second home when I need to escape work and feel too lazy to go to the gym. Guys, I think I will need it again very soon ;)
